Allen Johnson

Allen Johnson was appointed to the Bastrop County ESD 3 board in January 2025. Most of his professional career has been dedicated to EMS leadership. Allen served as the Executive Director of Waller County EMS and spent 13+ years as the Operations Manager, EMS Director and eventually CEO of the Montgomery County Hospital District and its EMS service. In 1998, led the migration of MCHD EMS from a private provider, similar to Acadian, to a public funded and led county-wide service. Since 2014, Allen has served in a variety of executive roles for an Austin based, EMS and public safety software company.
Allen has served on numerous boards, including the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council and the Wartburg Theological Seminary. He is currently the Co-Chair of the Bluebonnet Equine Human Society.
Allen believes the primary goal of the ESD is to ensure a cost-effective, high-quality care delivery system in partnership with local first responders and regional health systems that will keep pace with the anticipated rapid growth of Bastrop County.
Allen obtained a BS in Psychology and a Masters of Public Administration with an emphasis in Public Health Policy from Texas A&M University. Allen, his wife Kristin and children reside in the Cedar Creek area of Bastrop County.
